Lyon County VINELink Changed
Nevada retired the old VINELink interface. Its statewide search and alert work now lives elsewhere. The Attorney General says SAVE opened on August 28, 2025. New VINE registrations stopped that same morning. Leftover notifications ended a day later. Plenty of older government pages still speak VINE. For a current Lyon County custody check, use Nevada SAVE instead.
Lyon County once sat on Nevada's official VINE county list. Today the LCSO inmate-search page points to SAVE and promotes the sheriff app. SAVE answers one question: custody and supervision status, with notification built in. It is not a booking archive, a mugshot gallery, or a court file.
Search Lyon County Custody
The official SAVE search takes a full or partial name. It also asks for an ID number and a captcha. Unsure of spelling? SAVE allows the first three letters of each name, with a space between them. A broad search may return many matches. A shared name proves nothing. Compare every identifier and call the holding agency when doubt remains.
- Open the public SAVE search.
- Enter a name or known ID.
- Complete the captcha.
- Review all possible matches.
- Compare custody and agency details.
- Confirm urgent results with LCSO.
A brand-new arrest may beat the next statewide update. The LCSO browser page carries no public roster grid. It sends visitors to the sheriff app instead. The Sheriff and detention line is 775-463-6600. The Nevada SAVE screen remains the official statewide search point.

The capture distinguishes the live service from old VINELink instructions still found online.
Lyon County Custody Result Fields
SAVE shares public information on people currently in custody or under supervision in Nevada. You can search by name or ID. A status answer is a lead, not a certified record. Ask the named agency for anything official.
| Result element | How to use it |
|---|---|
| Name and identity details | Separate similar names; a match is not proof. |
| Offender or agency ID | Use it as the more exact search key when known. |
| Custody or supervision status | Read it as current status, not arrest history. |
| Holding or supervising agency | Contact that office for confirmation. |
| Registration control | Request notices about later custody changes. |
SAVE cautions that its data is periodically updated and is not an official record. Released people drop from view. Old registrations can still catch a return. A blank result might mean release, a transfer, a delay, or a search mismatch.
Register for Lyon County Alerts
Register through the SAVE account page, its Create an Account control, or by phone at 866-393-5445. Alerts work with or without an account. The phone line runs around the clock. Old VINE phone, email, text, and PIN details should not be assumed to carry over. Confirm delivery options before counting on them.
- Find the correct person in SAVE.
- Select the registration option for that record.
- Choose an offered contact method.
- Complete the displayed confirmation steps.
- Store registration details safely.
- Update changed contact information.
SAVE lists NVSave@ag.nv.gov for help. It aims to answer email within three business days. Automated alerts are handy but no substitute when safety or court deadlines loom. The official SAVE registration screen shows where setup begins.

Lyon County App Versus SAVE
The two tools answer different questions. The sheriff app, listed as “Lyon CSO View” in Apple's store, offers inmate search, jail information, news, alerts, tips, sex-offender search, and an agency directory. Fernley says the app launched in July 2023. Think of it as the county's inmate-search channel. SAVE stays Nevada's custody and alert channel.
The app isn't for emergencies. Call 911 for emergencies, or LCSO non-emergency dispatch at 775-463-6620. Booking photos are a separate records matter. LCSO says photographs can be requested for an added fee. SAVE holds no photos. The official Lyon CSO View listing identifies the app and its functions.

The listing confirms the app channel while leaving live booking behavior unclaimed.
Verify a Lyon County Arrest
The Lyon County Detention Facility serves agencies in and beyond the county. A Fernley or Yerington arrest can leave an incident report with the arresting agency. It can also leave a booking record with LCSO. Check the app, SAVE, or the detention line for custody. For same-day limits and the official fallback order, see Lyon County 24 Hour Arrests.
A released person vanishes from custody results. The booking record survives. LCSO Records handles requests for releasable booking reports and photos. The final outcome of a charge sits with the justice, municipal, or district court.
Nevada Alert System Boundaries
SAVE only watches Nevada custody and supervision. Federal inmates sit outside it. The Federal Bureau of Prisons runs its own locator, and immigration detention works the same way. A fresh Lyon County arrest is also a step ahead of SAVE, since the system leans on the Nevada Department of Corrections for later stages. NDOC Victim Services mails its own notices once a sentence lands there, so treat SAVE as a helpful add-on rather than a stand-in for NDOC or Parole Board registration.
Custody is not the same thing as a case. A person can be booked at the county jail, post bail, move to another facility, or take a local sentence without ever reaching state prison. SAVE flags the custody moves. The booking record stays with LCSO, the arresting agency keeps the incident report, and only the court settles the charge. Keep those lanes straight. An automated alert only says so much.
When Lyon County Status Changes
A Lyon County custody entry can shift for many reasons. Bail release frees the person on court-set terms. The case itself keeps going. A transfer might send someone to a different jail or a state institution. Other transfers reach systems SAVE never touches. Supervision counts as its own status too, distinct from confinement. Each change points to a different confirmation source. Write down the agency and the listed time before you call anyone.
If SAVE shows a change and the exact moment matters, call the agency named in the alert. LCSO is the record source for Lyon County detention. Once a qualifying state sentence begins, the NDOC offender search and Victim Services matter more. Federal custody calls for the federal locator. No single search tracks a person through every stage of an arrest case.
Lyon County Records After Release
These notification tools track status, not paperwork. When a name drops off the list, that does not erase history. An older Lyon County booking report may still exist. LCSO Records will take your request. The report-specific page posts a $5 fee, another $5 for a photograph, and up to 30 working days for a response. A separate general public-records page lists $45 per hour with a $45 minimum, and the two schedules do not match. Call Records first before picking a form or mailing any money.
Name the record you want. Give the full name, the rough booking date, and any report or booking number you have, and list a photograph as its own item. Open prosecutions, juvenile files, sealed records, and investigative material can all be withheld. A records request pulls an existing releasable document. It is not a live arrest alert. Nor does it stand in for the court's final case file.
